Awesome show today, & thanks especially to HBF. All of her comments today were great, but the ones about the cosmos were particularly beautiful and moving. & HBF, if you see this, I completely agree with you about Piker & also the rampant misogyny. For those of us who have been victims of rape and sexual violence, it’s infuriating to be told that we’re snowflakes who can’t handle “edgy” jokes. So much horrible stuff has been normalized in recent years, and it has revealed a festering rot at the heart of our culture and society. I wish I could see a way out of this.
This may be the deepest conversation you have had. Holly provided the context for all we are suffering under this current Administration. I was brought to tears with empathy and identification with her awe of the Universe. I am old enough to remember and have witnessed the lift off of the first landing on the moon. And Apollo 13. The tininess of the spaceship against the Florida sky when viewed from a mile away underlines that awe. From this greatness of achievements of those times to the descent of decency of these times is disheartening.
Holly, I agree with you. Although there’s a place for religion and giving you a structure where you could stand to look at at the world you have to be able to look beyond that structure appreciate how other people, other religions, other beliefs look at the world and realize we’re all just struggling to understand the unexplainable, the majesty of the universe that continues to expand yes, there is a God and there is a existential love that I think Permits all of us it’s there for us to grab, but we often don’t take the time to see it

Agree the view of earth makes me feel so small. God is bigger than than every religion
